Dr. Michael Stokes is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Doctorate in Professional Counseling and Supervision. Dr. Stokes began Stokes Counseling Services in 2011 to help teens, adults, couples and families in the Naugatuck area. His goal is to create a safe space for individuals and families to access mental health services without barriers to treatment. Each therapist brings a unique perspective into the practice, while focusing on patient care so individual and families get the care and outcomes they need!
Dr. Stokes specializes in working with LGBTQ+ individuals and families who are seeking additional support. He has advanced knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues that impact individuals within the community. In addition to his time with clients, he engages in workshops and teaching in the field of psychology and counseling.
Heather Elder is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, providing a compassionate space for individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life. She has experience working with a variety of challenges among young children, adolescents, and adults. Heather passionately believes that change is within everyone, at this very moment. Change is a constant. She is a guide to help you sift through blockages that may be clouding your ability to tap into that change, whether those are past experiences, unhealthy thought patterns, or disconnection with self and others. She also has experience providing supports to a broad range of mental health conditions and supporting individuals with varying stressful life experiences. Gleish is proficient in working with complex family dynamics and systems, new marriages, divorces, adoption, foster care, caring for other ill family members, chronic health disease, military families and veterans.

She provides a safe space for individuals to express themselves freely and feel comfortable and confident that they are being heard. Lindsay Perrone is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is licensed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Texas. Over the past fifteen years in practice, she has worked people across the lifespan covering topics such as anxiety, depression, postpartum concerns, self-esteem, addiction, trauma, grief, and more. Her approach to therapy is relaxed, down-to-earth, kind, and ever-changing depending on the needs of each individual. The absolute most important part of therapy is the relationship between client and counselor. You must sense a connection, a vibe of sorts, to feel comfortable sharing your story and hardships. Her hope is to provide that for you.
Amanda Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has a background providing individual, group and family therapy. Amanda has extensive experience working with individuals with a broad range of mental health issues and varying disabilities, including eating disorders, substance abuse disorders, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Amanda has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings providing intensive individual and family therapy to children and their families. Amanda also has experience working within the public school system providing interventions for children with challenging behaviors. She specializes in cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and behavior therapy. She is passionate about her work and enjoys implementing creative approaches to address a family’s needs in order to achieve health and wellness.

Tracy LaChapelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a doctoral student in Educational Leadership. She have over 25 years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents with difficulties in school, learning disabilities, social-emotional learning, gender/sexual identity, peer conflicts. She is passionate about helping families build strength as they seek to support and assist with advocating for their child’s needs.
Tracy believes children/adolescents, couples, individuals, and families heal and become resilient by safely exploring their unique strengths and potential. Furthermore, believes a person learns to become stronger by exploring oneself and seeing this into action within their every day interactions to have healthier and more satisfying relationships with others (families, intimate partners/spouses, teachers, friends, co-workers, etc.).
