Anne Russo is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist. Anne has worked in the mental health field with children, teens and families for over ten years. She has worked in various settings, including group home environments, in-home therapeutic programs, educational settings, outpatient therapy settings and intensive outpatient program/extended day treatment for children/teens. She has extensive training related to Psychology and Art Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Foster Care and Permanency. She is also passionate about working with the LGBTQ community; she is an advocate for Social Justice Issues and Diversity Awareness. Anne offers a strength based approach in helping children, teens and families to improve and capitalize on their skills, learn about their family system, understand trauma and increase their over-all well being.
Anne offers Art Therapy as a creative intervention to promote change, personal growth, increase communication, ease stress, pain or loss, gain mental health resilience and coping skills. Art therapy can support individuals or families increase their sense of empowerment through many life transitions or concerns. Art therapy does not require any art skills but it is beneficial if you are open to try art making and using the creative process to discover something new about yourself.
