Alicia Albertson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in working with children, adolescence, adults, and families with a focus on crisis intervention and providing therapeutic services to at-risk youth and their families. Alicia has experience in providing therapeutic treatment in a variety of settings , including: in home programs, hospitals, outpatient settings, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) schools, residential placements/group homes, day programs, and other community settings. Alicia has experience in working with individuals who present with at-risk behaviors, including, self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation, and homicidal ideation, auditory and visual hallucinations, as well as, individuals who have presented with depression, mood disorders, oppositional defiant disorders and other disruptive behavior disorders, adjustment disorders, anxiety, abuse, trauma, attention–deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive compulsive disorders, behavior issues, peer and family conflict, relationship issues, and life transitions.
In addition, Alicia also has experience working as a Behaviorist to provide in-home behavioral management services and interventions, including, the development of Behavior Plans and providing Applied Behavior Analysis interventions to individuals with behavioral challenges, including, those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities. Alicia has worked with individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds and is trained in multiple evidence based practice modalities, including, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Mindfulness Based Techniques, Behavior Management and Modification Interventions, and Applied Behavior Analysis. She works from a strengths based approach and also incorporates a multitude of therapeutic approaches in her work with families to best meet their needs and to support positive change. Alicia believes that positive change can be created with a safe and trusting environment paired with non-judgmental support.
